POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:

 

GODDARD GIRLS PHYSICAL EDUCATION POLICY SHEET

 

GYM UNIFORM (must have teacher approval)

  1. Goddard P.E. uniform T-shirt or white T-shirt, (Sweatshirts/sweatpants of any color are allowed but the T-shirt/shorts must be on underneath) Sleeveless shirts will not be allowed .  NO TANK TOPS , CUT OFFS, BLOUSE OR SWEATERS.
  2. Goddard P.E. uniform shorts of dark blue/black shorts.  SHORTS MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 6 INCH IN SEAM OR BE LONGER THAN MID THIGH!!!! (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  3. White-footed socks (any length).
  4. Rubber-soled tennis shoes (must not leave marks on gym floor).

All items should be permanently labeled in your name. This includes anything kept in your gym locker.  This will insure lost items being returned to their proper owner.

 

LOCKS - will be provided and must be locked at all times.  No locks may be brought from home     and locked on lockers.  They will be cut off if this happens.

  1. It is important to use the lock during class as well as when class is over.  LOCK YOUR LOCKERS!!!!!!!!  Don’t leave anything unattended in the locker room.  Remember big lockers are used only during the hour.
  2. Do not share lockers or give your combination out.  If you forget your combination or lose your lock please ask one of the instructors for help.

 

IF YOU ARE AT SCHOOL, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

GYM PROCEDURES

  1. You must have a doctor’s note for health problems lasting more than one day---

If you are unable to participate for that day you must have a parent note to not participate. You will still be required to suit up & will bring your note, pen/pencil, & paper to roll.  Your report will be due at the end of the hour to receive your full daily points.  ALL NOTES WILL BE TAKEN DURING ATTENDANCE----NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

2.   If you are absent or have a doctor’s note from class for any reason (including non-

participation) you are expected to make it up.  This includes school related activities.  In order to make that absence up, a 500 word written essay, per day, on any sports, fitness or health related topic is due one week for the date of the absence or injury. 

  1.  If you are unable to participate for a combined total of 6 weeks you will be withdrawn

from P.E.

  1. You are to be dressed and ready to go 5 minutes after the tardy bell rings. (WHISTLE WILL INDICATE ROLL CALL).  YOU ARE TO REMAIN IN THE LOCKER ROOM UNTIL DISMISSED TO THE GYM FOR ROLL.
  2. No food, drinks, or candy allowed in Gym area.
  3. You are not to leave the gym for any reason.
  4. Use the restroom BEFORE leaving the locker room at the beginning of class or wait until the class returns to the locker room at the end.  EXCEPT IN RARE AND

 

EXTREME EMERGENCIES.  THE LOCKER ROOM WILL BE LOCKED DURING  CLASS.

  1.  Pick up trash at end of hour in your area.  NO GLASS ALLOWED. A mile run will result from not picking up at end of hour. (Includes trash and clothes)
  2. Bracelets, necklaces, and looped earrings are not recommended during class.
  3. At end of hour, you will stay inside locker room behind the red line until the bell rings.
  4. Enter and exit gym from Mane Street.  DO NOT WALK ACROSS GYM FLOORS.
  5. P.E. OFFICE IS OFF LIMITS AT ALL TIMES!!!!!
  6. Restrooms are not to be used for dressing.
  7. Varsity locker room is for athletics only, unless assigned otherwise.
  8. Don’t bring valuables to class or leave in your locker.  Don’t bring or use any electronic equipment in class or in locker room.
  9. Dismissal at the end of the hour is teacher directed only, not by the bell.

 

ATTENDANCE AND TARDIES

  1.  All students must be in the locker room before tardy bell rings.
  2. Excused tardies are through the office and with written pass only.
  3. Early dismissal is through the office and with written pass only.

GRADING

  1.  A daily grade will be given to each student, everyday.
  2. Daily grade is 10 points/day.  Deductions include:
  1. Absent/Injury/Illness Report                              10
  2. Tardy                                                                   3
  3. Late to Roll/Squads                                            3
  4. Required Uniform (all or none)                            8
  5. Lack of Participation                                            8
  6. Attitude/Respect                                                  5

TESTING

  1.  Fitness Tests
  2. Written Tests

GUIDELINES

  1. All students are to be to class on time, suit out in required uniform, and participate with classmates in a positive environment.  NO BULLYING!!!!  Non-participation is with excused note only!!!
  2. All students are expected to follow teacher’s instruction.
  3. Inappropriate language in class will result in a one mile jog, or a failing grade for the day and a discipline report.
  4. Failure to comply with a teacher’s request:
  1. First Offense                             Loss of Daily Grade
  2. Second Offense                       Loss of Daily Grade and Parent Notified
  3. Third Offense                            Loss of Daily Grade and Sent to Office
