Goddard

                Since 1997, I have made my "home here on the range" in Kansas .  I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Jenks High School in 1989.  From there, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Arts Education at the University of Oklahoma in 1993.  Nine years later (after moving to Wichita) I completed a master’s degree at Wichita State University in guidance counseling.

                 My joy and focus in working with youth began very early as a teen camp counselor at Camp Loughridge outside of Tulsa, Ok.  From there, I pursued a variety of jobs and career experiences in working with youth from being a counselor at Camp Lake Hubert for Girls in Minnesota, a resident advisor at the Oklahoma School of Science and Math, and last to a youth group sponsor for the Presbyterian Church. 

                 My first teaching job was at a small, rural school in the panhandle of Oklahoma - Medford Public Schools.  I taught 7^th grade through 11^th grade English.  During that time I also directed school plays and guided students in making the yearbook.

                 In my time working with Goddard Schools, I have been an HS English teacher at Goddard High School and currently a guidance counselor for GHS.   My goal in working with youth is to always help them individually find their worth and potential to be who each is meant to be. 

                 Outside of school, I spend my time with my husband and two sons doing house improvement tasks, gardening, cub scouts, attending ball games, and traveling to far and fun places.    My family and friends are the heart of who I am and what keeps me energized to share the warmth with others.
